WebFile
Individual Income Tax
WebFile is a secure online application for filing your Kansas Individual Income tax. If you have an overpayment, your refund can be deposited directly into your checking or savings account. For a balance due, the preferred payment methods are electronic check or credit card (MasterCard, Discover or American Express). It is a safe, secure, fast and free way to file and pay your tax or receive your refund and it is completely paper free!
Why Use WebFile?
The interactive system automatically:
- makes calculations when you enter financial data
- submits the return to the Department of Revenue
- provides a confirmation number to verify the return was filed and refund or payment made
All Kansas residents and non-residents who filed a Kansas Income tax return last year can use WebFile, even if you itemize. You may file an amended Kansas Individual Income tax return (K-40) using WebFile, but not an extension or a Homestead Refund Claim (K-40H).
To access the application, you will need:
- Access to the Internet with a Web browser that can handle 128-bit encryption
- Personal identification number (PIN) or last year's original refund or balance due amount
